CentOS5.3の1CDを作りつつ疑問。。。
CentOS5.3のインストーラのパッケージグループ選択画面で、Virtualizationが表示されない。
CD内にRPMパッケージは存在するし、comps.xmlにも記述は存在している。
悩みつつ、anacondaのコードを読んでみる事にしました。

わかればなんて事はない。
yuminstall.pyにそれらしい記述があります。
対応しているか判定しているなんて、anacondaも賢くなったものです。

ちなみに私、Python読むのはAnacondaが初めてであります。

Vmware ESXi 4.0がダウンロード可能になっています。（正確には、vSphereなんですかね？）
さっそく入れてみました。使用マシンは、HP ML115G5。
何も細工なしで導入できました。

まだ、実際にVM構築してないですが使用感
・コンソールは、3.5のもので接続した際には勝手に4.0に差し替えてくれてしまいます。
・3.5と異なり、まともに日本語化された。。。
・仮想ディスク作成時、thinディスクの選択ができたり。
・仮想マシンタイプのバージョンがアップされて、選択できる仮想ハードが増えた。
・操作性は同様。
全体として検証環境として使うには便利になった感。

3.5のサーバにも4.0のクライアントで接続できるので、両バージョン稼動中でも管理端末側は意識する必要なさそうです。

痛鯖（イタサバ）キット。
Express5800/110Ge WindowsServer2008Foundationバンドルで、痛鯖（イタサバ）キットがついてくる。
らしいです。NTT-X Storeで。
現在は、予約受付中の様です。

ML115とWindows2008のセットなら買ったけど。。。

予想より早かったRed Hat Enterprise Linux 4.8です。

私は、CentOS4.8待ちです。

Linux慣れした私は、やはりbashです。Solarisを使っていても、bash使います。

で、FreeBSDでもbash使いたいので、パッケージ追加して、/etc/passwd書き換えても変更されず。。。
おかしいと思ったらコマンド用意されてるんですね。。。

# pkg_add -r bash
# chsh -s /usr/local/bin/bash
chsh: user information updated

なんとなく、/etc/master.passwdも一緒に書き換えればイイだけな気もしますが。。。
Linuxの/etc/shadowみたいなものかな。。。

しかし、RedHat系使い慣れると、/usr/localにガスガス導入されるのが違和感です。

WebminをFreeBSDで動かしてみた。
久々のFreeBSDって事で、/usr/localにApacheとか入ってしまったのが違和感です。。。

pkg_addで追加しただけでは、起動スクリプト登録されないなんて。。。
/etc/rc.confに追記して。。。

apache22_enable="YES"
apache22_http_accept_enable="YES"
webmin_enable="YES"

とりあえず、自動起動もするので問題ない訳ですがLinuxに慣れると、ほんと違和感。。。
下の画像は、WebminにFreeBSDのテーマ追加してます。

予想より半日早くリリースされました。FreeBSD 7.2。

riken.jpへもミラー完了してるっぽいので、入手に困る事は無さそうです。
しょっぱなの時にネットワークインストールは、鯖側がミラー中だと困るので、CDイメージをダウンロード開始しました。
10Mbps程度の速度が出ているので、リリース直後にしてはまずまずですかね。

Release Notesから個人的興味箇所だけ抜粋。
jail()の機能が拡張されてます。（DragonFly BSDでは既にあったようですが）
・インターフェースに複数のIPv4/IPv6が設定可能。
・CPUリソース制御が可能。

The jail subsystem has been updated. Changes include:

 * Multiple addresses of both IPv4 and IPv6 per jail has been supported. It is even possible to have jails without an IP address at all, which basically gives one a chrooted environment with restricted process view and no networking.
 * SCTP sctp with IPv6 in jails has been implemented.
 * Specific CPU binding by using cpuset has been implemented. Note that the current implementation allows the superuser inside of the jail to change the CPU bindings specified. This behavior will be fixed in the next release.
 * A jail can start with a specific route FIB now.
 * A show jails subcommand in ddb has been added.
 * Compatibility support which permits 32-bit jail binaries to be used on 64-bit systems to manage jails has been added.
 * Note that both version numbers of jail and prison in the jail have been updated for the new features.

OpenBSD 4.5が5/1にリリースされています。

OpenMoko：プロジェクトが開発している Linux ベースのスマートフォンプラットフォーム？でしょうか？
今回のリリースは、以前の様な盛り上がりが無いのがサビシィですが、FreeBSD 7.2リリースが直前だからでしょうか。。。
ちなみにFreeBSDは5/4予定だったような気がしますが、どこもミラー開始されてる様子がないので、リリース遅れですかね。

再度ML115 G5のFAN交換しました。
理由は、マシンがFANの速度が低くなった際に電源が落ちてしまいました。。。
使用していたFANは、鎌風の風PWM、1000rpmをきった辺りでマシンが落ちてしまう様です。

交換後のFANは、
ケースFAN：KAMA-FLES SA0925FDB12L
CPU FAN：AINEXの10mm厚の静音FAN（20mm厚だと固定に困ってしまいます）

ケースFANに使用したKAMA-FLEXは、クローズドオイルベアリング採用で非常に静かです。
どうやらSony製の流体軸受けを使用している様で納得です。

ML115 G5では、FANの回転速度を目安以下以上を選ばないとBIOSの監視に引っかかってしまう様です。
正確な回転数まではわかりませんが。。。
ケースFAN：1000RPM
CPU FAN：2000RPM

Solaris 10 5/09がリリースされた様です。

って所でしょうか。


Oracleへ買収となってから、MySQLの新バージョン発表に、Solaris10もupdate7へ。
タイミング的に、OracleとSunってドナノ？って思わせてくれます。
