Planex VR500でOpenWrt 15.05.1を動かす。
Planex VR500のハードウェアスペックは、OpenWrtで遊ぶには嬉しい構成となっている。
SoC MT7621A(2コア4スレッド)、RAM 256MB、Flash 64MB。
また、最近日本メーカーでは減ってしまったメタル筐体仕様。
無線非搭載モデル。(OpenWrtで愉しむには日本ではかなり重要。これならいろんな処で発表したりするにも変な説明が必要なく便利。)
今回は、SPI Flashの安定化を図る為、少し大きなパッチとなっている。
VR500_r49404.patch
SPI Flashのドライバに手を加えているのみで、後は素のChaos Calmerになります。
ビルド済みバイナリも張り付けておきます。
(initramfs-kernel.binは、Flash書き込み用の踏み台と考えてください。純正ファームウェアの管理画面で流し込めます。)

OpenWrt trunk、LEDEのパッチは近日公開予定です。
動作は確認できており、パッチ投稿準備中です。

本体は金属筐体。箱は茶箱。
Planex VR500。いたってデザインはシンプル。
WAN 1ポート、LAN 4ポート、電源ケーブルの抜け防止が存在。
抜け防止があるのは少し嬉しい。
USBは2ポート構成。これは嬉しい。
しかも片方はUSB 3.0。
OpenWrtでも3.0として認識できます。
PCI-Eのパターンが存在するので、今後も期待できそうです。
また、シリアルにピンが既に生えている。
ピンを生やすのが苦手でも問題ありません。
始めから生えてます。
